The Journey - Phuket, Thailand to Padang, Sumatra

After two weeks of running around like chickens with our heads cut off, outfitting the boat in five days and getting all of the paperwork and permits, the adventure finally begins. Our first run to Palau Weh is glassy and calm, complete with dolphins and a seasick captain. Our second stop was a random cove on the northern coast of sumatra, where we were visited by a fisherman. We fueled up again in Gunungsitoli, Nias. Fueling was expidited this round by Chris's daring curcumnavigation of local authorities who like to have thier palms greased and a cash machine that gave us cash when there was none. The run from nias was a little sketchy through a storm all day, but we made it to Padang that night safe and sound.
