Our first stop was Palau Weh, a sleepy little island off of the northern tip of Sumatra. The local officials were very excited to see us and we ended up hosting an impromptu party on the boat. Costoms drank all of our beer, but stopped looking through our stuff when they got to my underwear drawer. Fueling up was a main event and took trips to several offices and half the day.
